This professional education launch event combines a screening of Stolen Dreams: Redemption with an introduction to a new film-based education programme designed for professionals working with young people affected by violence, conflict, offending and exclusion.
The film explores the human consequences of violence and offending, raising questions about accountability, responsibility, forgiveness and restorative practice. Rather than relying on statistics or traditional approaches, the programme uses storytelling as a practical engagement tool to support difficult conversations with young people who may struggle to connect with consequences on a deeper level.
The event is aimed at professionals in schools, colleges, youth services, violence reduction programmes, safeguarding, social care, probation, criminal justice, community organisations and universities. You will experience the film, understand the educational framework behind the programme, explore how film can support challenging conversations, and see how resources can integrate into existing youth work, education and prevention efforts.
Free registration is available to professionals using a professional email address. Retired professionals with relevant experience in education, youth work, violence prevention or restorative practice are also welcome. If you lack a professional email but have relevant experience, contact [email protected] to discuss registration. Spaces are limited.
