The Freud Museum London hosts an evening event celebrating the publication of Talking about Non-Recent Child Sexual Abuse: Survivor, Clinician and Researcher Perspectives. This book emerged from the Network for Change: NRCSA, founded following public revelations about Jimmy Savile's crimes in 2011 and the subsequent Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse established in 2014.
The event brings together clinical practitioners, researchers and policy experts who believe this subject extends far beyond clinical boundaries into legal, welfare and social spheres. Drawing on psychoanalytic perspectives—particularly relevant given Freud's historical rejection of the seduction theory—the book integrates diverse viewpoints from survivors, clinicians and researchers.
