UK SHOCK 2026 is a two-day national conference dedicated to contemporary management of cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock, with emphasis on mechanical circulatory support. The meeting brings together cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, intensive care specialists, prehospital and emergency medicine professionals, alongside researchers, service leaders and NHS commissioners to discuss the latest evidence, UK service models and future strategic priorities.
The programme features eight themed scientific sessions across two days, combining 30+ expert talks with eight moderated panel debates. Day 1 focuses on cardiogenic shock—covering latest evidence, UK teams and networks, interventional strategies, and national strategic direction. Day 2 addresses cardiac arrest, including advances in care, extracorporeal CPR programmes, specific clinical challenges and organisational sustainability within the NHS.
Sessions are structured with four 15-minute expert presentations followed by 30-minute moderated discussions. The conference includes refreshments and lunch breaks throughout both days, plus a gala dinner on the evening of Day 1. Abstract submissions are welcomed across research, quality improvement, service development, education and clinical case reports, with the strongest presentation selected for the main stage and others displayed as posters. Prizes are awarded for best presentation, best poster, most innovative and most impactful work.
