CoTech, a network of 28 worker-owned digital and tech cooperatives across the UK, hosts a regular peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing gathering focused on tech sovereignty. The session brings together developers, product owners, policy makers, IT professionals, and open source advocates to discuss the risks of big tech dependency and explore practical alternatives.
The format combines structured networking with small-group discussions. After a quick introduction round, participants pitch tools, workflows, or questions that are clustered into 3–4 topics. Small groups then dive into self-selected discussions where people can demonstrate platforms and share their experiences of transitioning away from proprietary solutions. The session concludes with group report-backs and open mingling to continue conversations one-to-one.
Particularly welcome are those already active in open source communities, those helping organisations move from big tech, or those building and using ethical digital tools and willing to share their workflows.
