An All Hallows' Eve celebration bringing together writers, stories, music, conversation and shared food. The Gathering Table 2026 marks the launch of From The Cauldron, the first short story anthology to emerge from the From The Cauldron Women's Short Story Competition. Twenty-one winning writers will be celebrated, their journey having begun at the inaugural Gathering Table in 2025.
Inspired by artist Judy Chicago's Dinner Party, this event creates space for women of different ages, generations, backgrounds and experiences to listen, talk, reflect and connect. Throughout the evening, expect readings and storytelling from featured writers, live music, shared food and wine, creative moments, and the chance to meet the authors.
The evening is free to attend. If you'd like to bring a dish to share—a favourite meal, something baked, or food with personal significance—you're warmly invited to do so (all shared items must be clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens). There is no expectation to bring anything. Voluntary donations are welcomed to support the publication and future gatherings.
