Join an evening celebrating the launch of Sphinx Plays: six classic feminist plays, a landmark collection showcasing contemporary feminist theatre writing. The collection brings together work by leading playwrights including Bryony Lavery, April De Angelis, Timberlake Wertenbaker, Jackie Kay, Diane Esguerra and Pam Gems, each exploring women's lives, histories and futures with wit, power and provocation.
The evening features selected readings and songs from past Sphinx productions, followed by a panel discussion with speakers Timberlake Wertenbaker, April de Angelis and Bryony Lavery, moderated by Brigid Larmour. With an introduction charting Sphinx Theatre Company's five decades of championing women in the arts, the anthology serves as both a vital resource for theatre-makers and students and a testament to feminist creative vision.
Books will be available to purchase and authors will sign copies.
