Small Talks is a social evening centred on rapid, entertaining talks delivered with PowerPoint slides on peculiar, obsessive, and entirely frivolous subjects. The golden rule: work talk is off limits. Each speaker has 10–12 minutes to advocate passionately for something they're a little too invested in, followed by a brief Q&A that can be as playful or pointed as you wish.
This Halloween edition invites you to test-drive your costume among fellow curious minds, with a specially themed speaker lineup. Expect roughly five short talks covering wonderfully odd topics—from linguistic analysis of David Bowie's lyrics to the history of the Village People, from the quirks of dating apps to the virtues of the Victoria Line. After each presentation, a break allows you to grab a drink and converse freely.
The formula is straightforward: structured curiosity followed by genuinely unstructured conversation. No networking agendas, no pressure, just conversation starters, background music kept intentionally low-key, and a room full of people genuinely interested in listening and talking to strangers.
