Join a special reception celebrating the legacy of Sylvia Pankhurst, held at the historic Royal Geographical Society between the matinee and evening performances of the hip hop musical Sylvia. Hear directly from Helen Pankhurst about her grandmother's life and impact, gain insights from the musical's producer about the performance, and listen to celebrities discussing Sylvia's suffragette connections and broader significance.
The event features Sandi Toksvig — broadcaster, writer, comedian and political activist — who will present celebratory scrolls and brooches to the inaugural Pankhurst 100 members, a group committed to sustaining fundraising efforts through to 2028/29. Attendees are invited to wear suffragette colours.
Attend the reception and support Centenary Action's ongoing work for women's equality and suffragette history. Those heading to the evening performance of Sylvia will be invited to march together to the Royal Albert Hall. A silent online auction and prize draw (over 40 items, mostly women's history and feminism-related) will run throughout the evening, closing at 9:45pm on 15 November.
