Longevity science is evolving beyond isolated anti-ageing interventions towards understanding individual differences in ageing and how to extend healthspan. This seminar explores how genetics, epigenetics, nutrition and lifestyle influence key biological pathways—including mTOR, AMPK, sirtuins, autophagy, mitochondrial function and inflammation—many of which respond to dietary and lifestyle changes.
Precision healthy ageing combines genomic, metabolomic and microbiome data with targeted dietary strategies and biological-age assessment tools like DNA methylation clocks. However, biomarker improvements alone do not guarantee longer healthspan; meaningful outcomes such as reduced disease risk and preserved function must be demonstrated. The emerging framework builds precision longevity on established prevention—nutrition, physical activity and early detection—with advanced tools layered according to individual need and evidence strength.
Led by Benjamin I. Brown, founder and director of the Nutritional Medicine Institute and host of Positive Health Podcast, this 2-hour accredited CPD session reviews how genes, lifestyle and environment shape ageing biology; identifies nutrition and lifestyle pathways; assesses biomarkers and biological-age clocks; and presents structured, evidence-based approaches to personalised nutrition and lifestyle medicine.
All attendees receive lecture notes, supplementary research papers, and dinner with drinks.
