Discover the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken ceramics are repaired with golden resin to celebrate their imperfections. Rather than hiding damage, this mindful technique embraces the cracks as part of an object's history, symbolising fragility, strength and beauty.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will work one-to-one with instructor Claire to repair a piece of porcelain step by step. The class provides all materials and a selection of broken items to choose from (cups, bowls, plates and vases with 4-8 breaks each), or you may bring your own piece if you prefer. Your finished item will be ready to take home at the end of the session. The process is deliberately thoughtful and methodical—patience is essential.
Held monthly at the bright yellow-fronted Mini Picassos venue, opposite Kensal Rise Overground Station and a short walk from Kensal Green Tube.
