Join an evening celebrating excellence in engineering geology. This hybrid event streams the XV IAEG World Congress from Delft, The Netherlands, presenting the 2026 Glossop Award and Medal Lecture to a live London audience at Burlington House.
The programme features Rowshi Hussain, recipient of the Glossop Award, presenting on "Geohazard Assessment of Legacy Mine Workings Using Borehole Images and Wireline Logging". Ann Williams, the 2026 Glossop Medal recipient, will deliver the Glossop Medal Lecture titled "Dewatering: where science meets art", exploring dewatering's role in safe construction below the water table through case studies and professional examples.
Following the lectures, Holger Kessler of AtkinsRéalis will receive the 2026 Engineering Group Award in recognition of his contributions to engineering geology, with a short lecture highlighting his career achievements and industry impact.
An evening reception from 7:30pm onwards provides an opportunity to network and celebrate the field with colleagues and peers. Spaces are limited and ticketed.
