A monthly Monday evening for poets, writers and anyone who enjoys listening. This extra-large edition of Word Space takes over the historic Jamboree in Kings Cross, with a proper stage and plenty of room for poems to be heard. The evening is built around open mic slots, poem sharing, discussion, feedback and collective writing activities, all in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.
The organisers see poetry as a team effort. Rather than struggling alone for an idea, the evening invites you to write together, share unfinished drafts and offer encouragement. Listening is just as important as performing, and the aim is to create space to hear and think about each other's words. Bring pens, pencils and a bit of daydreaming.
- Doors and open mic sign-ups from 6:00pm
