Fast Fashion Therapy's Eleanor and Sarah are running a hands-on session to help you mend or alter clothes you no longer wear or that have become damaged. Bring a couple of items to work on, and they will advise you on how to repair or change them.
Not sure about your sewing skills yet? Practise on the spare fabric scraps provided before moving on to your own garments. The space has three sewing machines, an iron, and a basic sewing kit with materials on hand. The organisers can't supply every material, so bring any particular colours, trims or fabrics you have in mind.
The group is friendly and inclusive, and everyone is welcome to share ideas on how to mend and refashion clothing to cut down on textile waste. The workshop is free to attend thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, though a donation with your booking is appreciated to help cover costs not met by the grant. Booking involves a short form that asks about age, gender and ethnicity; this data is anonymised and used for funder reporting.
