A special edition of Queer Open Mic marks the launch of facilitator Manny's new spoken word project, I HAVE ARRIVED. Manny, a performer and writer from East London, is a spoken word artist who blends the form with movement, acting, music and dance. He hosts Queer Open Mic at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre and co-hosts LOUD & PROUD.
The new project is a direct sequel to Steppin' Out Stronger and reflects on his twenties while looking ahead. Expect a mix of sci-fi, fantasy and adventure touches, with more rap, wordplay, rhythmic pieces and monologues than before, along with some personal reflections on growing in confidence and in his writing.
The open mic itself is open to all kinds of performance: talking, singing, dancing or anything else. It is also a welcoming place to simply watch if you are not ready to take the stage yet.
