Learn the fundamentals of DJing at BOXPARK Shoreditch's BEATBOX with On the Rise DJ Academy. The beginners workshop covers essential techniques including phrase mixing and mix points, sound level matching, EQ principles (corrective and creative), basic effects, beat and bar structure, song analysis, loops, effect integration, genre blending, set structure planning, and mixing across different tempos.
The workshop runs 4pm–6pm, followed by an Open Decks event from 6pm–10pm where DJs of all levels and genres can perform. The Open Decks session welcomes the wider DJ community to share music, network with peers, and participate in a welcoming creative environment.
This takes place on the last Tuesday of every month.
