Ever been introduced to someone who changed the direction of your business entirely? A new contract, or the perfect workspace, can come from a single well-made introduction. This monthly, facilitated evening is built to create exactly those connections through honest word-of-mouth referrals.
Rather than another loose meet-up, the session revolves around one question: who can the people in this room introduce you to? A tried and tested format helps you get in front of the people who can move your business forward. No networking experience is needed, and there is no awkward small talk.
The evening runs in three parts:
- The pitch: Prepare by thinking about the kind of person who could bring you the business you need, whether next month, next year or as a game-changer.
- Referrals round: Consider everyone in your network of suppliers, customers and friends who buys goods and services.
- Tea and biscuits: Exchange contacts and discuss possible collaborations.
The group is friendly and regular, and new faces are welcome every month. Past introductions have led to a steady architecture commission, several thousand pounds of freelance work, a £8,000+ website contract, new freelancers for a mutual support agency, one-to-one podcast training, a £40,000 no-strings grant for new machinery, and a connection that helped a charity-sector software provider become a leading accounting platform. Bring your goals, your requests, your business cards and an open mind.
The evening is hosted by Natasha from SPACE4, a workspace run by Outlandish, a tech worker-cooperative focused on social and economic change. SPACE4 offers affordable workspace, networking and training events, and consultancy from its base in Finsbury Park, and acts as a hub for social innovators and digital activists.
