A monthly peer-led meet-up where freelancers learn about money together. Each session focuses on a different theme, from tax returns and pensions to investing, pricing, budgeting, insurance and saving for time off. The group chooses the topics collectively, and suggestions are welcome.
The session on 4 February covers pensions and investing, followed by budgeting on 4 March, Making Tax Digital on 1 April, a pensions deep dive on 6 May, cash flow and savings on 3 June, and contracts and invoicing on 1 July. Topics for the September to December sessions are still to be confirmed.
Each meeting is hosted by a community member, Steffi Joy, a copywriter and community engagement strategist for radical change-makers. Bring your curiosity and perhaps a calculator. The club takes place at SPACE4, a workspace run by the Outlandish tech worker-cooperative in Finsbury Park, which supports local community, democratic business and social movements.
