Guided tours of Middle Temple's historic buildings depart at 11:00 on Fridays only and must be booked together with lunch. The tour showcases the magnificent Hall with its celebrated oak High Table—said to be a gift from Queen Elizabeth I—and explores the cobbled lanes and gas-lit walkways of this historic legal precinct. The first recorded performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night reportedly took place here in 1602.
