Join a special screening of Magic in the Mundane, a feature-length documentary exploring the overlooked wonders woven into everyday life. The film brings together philosophers, writers, psychedelic guides, death doulas, trauma workers, ritual keepers, pilgrims and spiritual practitioners from diverse traditions to investigate where meaning and transcendence emerge in the ordinary world.
The documentary ventures into consciousness itself, examining how psychedelics reshape perception, how trauma can fracture and illuminate spiritual understanding, and how death functions as a threshold rather than an ending. Through stunning cinematography and original score, the film follows pilgrims, contemplates pantheism and ancient ritual, and asks who we become when no one is watching. Rather than offering definitive answers, it invites viewers into open-ended reflection.
After the screening, director Leigh Brooks and film contributor Darren Le Baron will participate in a full question-and-answer session. You will also receive an exclusive first look at the sequel, Sacred in the Profane, currently being filmed across the UK, Europe and Egypt.
Content note: The film contains discussions of trauma, addiction, mental health, psychedelics, grief and emotional healing. Some testimonies and ceremonial sequences may be emotionally intense.
