A drop-in improv workshop open to LGBTQ+ people at any experience level. Improv is built on collaboration and on saying yes to other people's ideas, so the session is about following your instincts and seeing where a scene goes. Games and exercises help you build stories and characters while you learn the basics of improvisation.
The workshop is low-stakes and designed for laughs and new friendships. It also suits anyone working on social anxiety or wanting more confidence in public speaking.
The facilitator is Sam Roulston (he/him), an award-winning comedian and writer based in London. He recently returned from several years in Toronto, where he performed and taught at The Second City comedy theatre, and he has performed and taught at comedy festivals around the world, including Mama City Improv Festival (Cape Town), Hell Yes Fest (New Orleans), The Del Close Marathon (New York City), Detroit Improv Festival and Improv Fest Ireland (Dublin).
