Join Queer Theatre's weekly acting classes designed for LGBTQIA+ people of all abilities. Led by award-winning theatre director Andrew Keates, these sessions create a safe, creative space where performers can develop their craft while building a supportive queer community.
Each class blends practical training with collaborative exploration: you'll learn performance styles and acting techniques, engage in improvisational games, work with scripts and material reflecting LGBTQIA+ experiences, and gain access to Queer Theatre's wider network of events and opportunities. Several times yearly, students prepare for the OutCast Showcase of Queer Actors & Writing, where industry professionals including agents and casting directors attend—many participants have gone on to secure representation and professional roles.
Andrew Keates brings extensive experience directing critically acclaimed queer plays in the West End and internationally, alongside decades of LGBTQ+ activism and engagement with community issues. Classes blend rigorous technique with play, self-discovery, and genuine camaraderie.
