An evening dedicated to the work of Sir Simon Marsden (1948–2012), one of Britain's most celebrated photographers. Using infra-red film, Marsden captured the liminal spaces between the visible and invisible — ruins, haunted sites, and landscapes where the supernatural and human worlds intersect. His belief that we have forgotten how to perceive beyond scientific understanding shaped decades of work across Europe, Ireland, Britain, and the United States.
This exhibition, curated by Central Saint Martins MA CCC students, brings together the photographic archive of The Hyman Collection and the experimental poetry collective Make Poetry Weird Again. The show features original prints, large-scale reprints, and moving-image works, inviting slow, meditative engagement with Marsden's otherworldly vision.
Attendees participate in a poetry-writing workshop led by poet and performer Nols Nathankski, using Marsden's images as prompts to explore the thresholds between presence and absence, the seen and unseen.
