Flock: In Formation marks the beginning of Care Leavers' Month 2026 with a full-day conference examining how the arts and culture can better support young people with lived experience of the care system.
The day opens with a performance of Flock, a play by Lin Coghlan developed over several years through PlayingON's collaboration with care-experienced young people. The production tells the stories of those navigating the care system and those who support them, setting the stage for the day's in-depth workshops and conversations.
This is a conference co-created with young people who bring expertise through their own lived experience — not as audience members, but as active participants at the table shaping the day. Designed for care-experienced young people, practitioners, and policy makers, the event demonstrates what genuine partnership looks like, working with young people's potential rather than managing their needs.
